In game modes A and B, players view a swampland from a first-person perspective.
The dog scares the ducks out of the swamp, one at a time in mode A or two at a time in mode B.
The ducks go flying around in the air and the player has three shots and a limited amount of time to shoot the ducks before they fly away.
Each round only allows a limited number of misses in order to move on successfully.
As the rounds progress, the ducks begin flying faster and faster, and fewer misses are allowed.
In game mode A, a second player can control the movement of the duck using a controller plugged into port 2.
Mode C features target practice on clay pigeons rather than ducks.
The perspective and rules here are the same, with only three shots to destroy two clay pigeons before they disappear off the horizon.
Destroy enough clay pigeons to move on to the next, tougher round.
About Game Boy Color
The Game Boy Color (1998) added a color screen to the original Game Boy formula while remaining backwards compatible with the entire existing cartridge library. Its colorful, semi-transparent cartridge shells make it a visually distinct platform for shelf collectors, and several late-cycle exclusives — released just before the Game Boy Advance took over — are notably harder to find complete today.
Gamevaro tracks Duck Hunt for Game Boy Color with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Duck Hunt to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This GBC release dates back to 2025.

Rarity & condition
No market sales have been tracked yet for Duck Hunt — this could mean it rarely changes hands, or simply that Gamevaro hasn't recorded a sale for it yet. Be the first to add it to your collection.
Condition matters a lot for collector value: loose (cartridge/disc only), complete-in-box (CIB, with original packaging and manual) and factory-sealed copies are tracked separately because the price gap between them can be significant, especially for older releases.
