Juan stands no chance and is quickly killed off - but fortunately he finds a magical wrestling mask in the undead world which gives him power.
Of course his new quest is to defeat Calaca and rescue the damsel in distress.
The game uses a humorous style with numerous pop culture references.
Guacamelee! is a side-scrolling platformer with interconnected areas.
It follows the Metroidvania style: Juan gains upgrades over time which allow him to overcome obstacles and reach new areas.
Ultimately he gains the powers to explore the whole map and reach his final goal.
While platforming is obviously an important of the gameplay, there is also a big focus on fighting enemies in melee combat.
Each upgrade has to be used for both exploration and combat purposes because different enemies require different tactics to defeat.
Examples for abilities are a dodging roll, transforming into a chicken or switching between the living and dead world which changes not only the optics, but also platforms and enemies.
Multiplayer allows co-op play for two players on one screen.
When the gap between the players get too far and one leaves the screen, the character gets teleported back.
The second character is the female Tostada.
About Nintendo Switch
Released in 2017, the Nintendo Switch became one of the best-selling consoles of all time thanks to its hybrid handheld/docked design. Its cartridge-based physical format (as opposed to discs) has made complete-in-box collecting popular again, with certain limited print runs and Nintendo-published exclusives already commanding a premium on the secondhand market just a few years after release.
Gamevaro tracks Guacamelee! 2 for Nintendo Switch with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Guacamelee! 2 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NSW release dates back to 2018.

Rarity & condition
No market sales have been tracked yet for Guacamelee! 2 — this could mean it rarely changes hands, or simply that Gamevaro hasn't recorded a sale for it yet. Be the first to add it to your collection.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
