About this game

The PC Engine CD version of Double Dragon II by Naxat Soft is surprisingly modeled closely after the NES game, from featuring mostly the same levels down to the rule of having no more than two enemies on screen at a time.

But it does mix and match different types together, and in general extends the stages with additional hoodlums.

There are a few other notable structural differences – namely, the fight on the huge moving bulldozer at the end of the forest level is missing, but to make up for its omission, the Lee brothers actually have to fight Willy before they meet their own shadows like in the arcade game.

They also get to face the Shadow Master (now without the cape) on any difficulty level, although you miss out on the second round in a church and the good ending with Marion revived unless you beat the game on the Hard difficulty mode.

About TurboGrafx CD

The TurboGrafx-CD (1989) was one of the earliest CD-ROM add-ons for a home console, expanding the TurboGrafx-16's library with games too large for cartridges. Its already-niche parent platform combined with the added cost of the CD add-on kept the North American audience small, making complete TurboGrafx-CD sets a genuinely rare find for collectors today.

Gamevaro tracks Double Dragon II: The Revenge for TurboGrafx CD with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Double Dragon II: The Revenge to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This TGCD release dates back to 1993.

Rarity & condition

No market sales have been tracked yet for Double Dragon II: The Revenge — this could mean it rarely changes hands, or simply that Gamevaro hasn't recorded a sale for it yet. Be the first to add it to your collection.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
