About this game

Kholat is a survival horror video game.

It is based on the Dyatlov Pass incident , where a group of nine Russian college students went missing in February 1959 on Kholat Syakhl ("Dead Mountain") and were found dead in the time span of four months.

The tenth student walked back earlier due to illness.

The player controls the protagonist who is retracing the steps of the students.

The game consists of three main acts in which the player has to eventually reach the scene of the Dyatlov Pass incident.

By use of a map and compass system, the mountain pass has to be explored, using basic movements as walking and sprinting.

Jumping nor climbing is possible.

The sprinting is limited, with excessive use leading to motion impairment and vision blurring.

The sprint is mostly used to escape to safety after the brief encounters you have with the mountain’s hostile “fire spirits”.

Failure to escape from a "fire spirit", stepping into a trap or falling of ledges will result in an instant death.

The game has limiting abilities to save your game, only when you’re visiting one of the established camp sites strewn around the pass or whenever you find a new note, article or journal page strewn across the mountain pass.

About Xbox One

Microsoft's Xbox One launched in 2013 alongside the PS4 and leaned heavily into backwards compatibility and subscription services like Game Pass. Because so many Xbox One owners moved to all-digital libraries, physical Xbox One cartridges — sorry, discs — in good condition are comparatively less common on the secondhand market than their PlayStation equivalents from the same era.

Gamevaro tracks Kholat for Xbox One with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Kholat to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This XONE release dates back to 2015.

Rarity & condition

No market sales have been tracked yet for Kholat — this could mean it rarely changes hands, or simply that Gamevaro hasn't recorded a sale for it yet. Be the first to add it to your collection.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.

What's the difference between loose, CIB and sealed for Kholat?

Loose means cartridge or disc only, CIB (complete in box) includes the original box and manual, and sealed means factory-sealed and never opened. These are tracked as separate market values because the price gap between them can be significant, especially for older releases.
