The ball constantly bounces over the arena, retrieved by a player constantly bombarded by opponents.
A variety of weapons are available to shoot your competitor, and anyone that takes a hit while carrying the ball loses possession, sending the ball bouncing across the arena.
Taking too many shots results in a temporary inability to take part in the action while your opponent happily scores goals.
Winning matches increases standing in the rankings and the acquisition of cash to purchase a better vehicle and enhanced offensive or defensive items.
About 3DO
The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer (1993/1994) was an ambitious, expensive CD-based console licensed to multiple manufacturers rather than built by a single company — a business model that ultimately contributed to its commercial failure. Low overall sales and a short commercial life mean 3DO games were produced in modest numbers, making complete copies a specialist retro collecting niche today.
Gamevaro tracks BattleSport for 3DO with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding BattleSport to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This 3DO release dates back to 1995.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
BattleSport has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
