Who Shot Johnny Rock?
3DO · 1991
About this game
Another live-actor arcade shooter by American Laser Games (makers of Mad Dog McCree and Crime Patrol), Who Shot Johnny Rock is set in the classic 1920's style gangster era.
As the title suggests, you're supposed to find out who shot singer Johnny Rock (or at least who hired the guys who shot him) and put them behind bars.

There are some differences between this game and previous American Laser Games shooters.
Instead of a wimpy pistol, you get a tommy gun (which doesn't need to be reloaded).
Unfortunately, you also have limited ammo and need to buy more at times.
Instead of lives you have a fixed supply of money, and each time you die you lose some cash.
Lose it all and it's game over.
About 3DO
The 3DO Interactive Multiplayer (1993/1994) was an ambitious, expensive CD-based console licensed to multiple manufacturers rather than built by a single company — a business model that ultimately contributed to its commercial failure. Low overall sales and a short commercial life mean 3DO games were produced in modest numbers, making complete copies a specialist retro collecting niche today.
Gamevaro tracks Who Shot Johnny Rock? for 3DO with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Who Shot Johnny Rock? to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This 3DO release dates back to 1991.
