About this game

Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator is an arcade action game where you take control of the Starship Enterprise.

Your mission is to save the Federation from NOMAD! Before you get a chance at destroying NOMAD, you'll have to battle your way through ten levels (each consisting of multiple rounds).

In each round you may encounter Klingon fighters, deadly anti-matter saucers, asteroid fields, and deadly meteors, all of which are capable of depleting the Enterprises energy.

The game ends when your energy supply has completely run out.

To fight these dangers, the Enterprise is equipped with an unlimited supply of phasers and a limited supply of photon torpedoes.

Each round also contains one or more starbases; if you dock at a starbase, some of your supplies (such as energy and torpedoes) will be replenished.

The game is played from two points of view; the top of the screen contains a third person view of the Enterprise (along with the ships gauges), and on the bottom of the screen is a first person point of view

About Atari 5200

The Atari 5200 (1982) was Atari's attempt to modernize the 2600 formula with better graphics and an analog joystick, but it launched just before the North American video game market crash of 1983 and never recovered commercially. Its short, crash-era lifespan means a comparatively small library, making the 5200 a niche but accessible corner of early-console collecting.

Gamevaro tracks Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator for Atari 5200 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This A5200 release dates back to 1983.
