The basic layout and setting remain the same from the original version, but there are significant differences in level design as well.
The player takes control of either Qui-Gon Jinn, Obi-Wan Kenobi or Mace Windu (and an additional character who is unlocked after beating the game once) and fights through ten levels which are loosely based on the movie Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace .
The gameplay focuses on melee combat and therefore the Jedi have various related moves at their disposal, e.g. kicks, slashes or reflecting laser fire with the lightsaber.
There are also various jumping puzzles.
