After every eight shots, the gun must be reloaded.
Birds that are farther away gain more points while shooting down balloons or planes deducts points.
The game contains three different landscapes (compared to just one in the original) and also introduces bonus items.
These items are carried by some birds and are activated when shot.
They include weapons like a machine gun or a gun with a wide spread as well as time bonuses.
The game can be played for high score (a high score table is available) and in a tournament mode, which challenges the player with a higher score to reach in each subsequent stage.
About Game Boy Color
The Game Boy Color (1998) added a color screen to the original Game Boy formula while remaining backwards compatible with the entire existing cartridge library. Its colorful, semi-transparent cartridge shells make it a visually distinct platform for shelf collectors, and several late-cycle exclusives — released just before the Game Boy Advance took over — are notably harder to find complete today.
Gamevaro tracks Die Original Moorhuhnjagd for Game Boy Color with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Die Original Moorhuhnjagd to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This GBC release dates back to 2000.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Die Original Moorhuhnjagd, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Game Boy Color titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
