The player will find him/herself in the Carbonated Forest on a map screen much like that of Super Mario Bros. 3 .
Each sub level has baddies such as snails, birds, bats and evil bouncing Spots.
Spot cannot come into physical contact with baddies as that is bad for spot and will knock a heart off Spot's life bar.
Spot can either jump with A or pick up/throw blocks with B.
Throughout levels Spot collects 7UP Spots as well as hearts.
Spots add to the Spot count.
Hearts add to Spot's life bar.
Both Spots and Hearts add to the overall score.
If a block on a platform is just barely preventing Spot from jumping high enough to get on it, Spot can pick the block up in mid jump.
The game features two difficulties.
Spot: The Cool Adventure was reskinned with a McDonald's theme for the European market.
About Game Boy
The original Game Boy (1989) proved that handheld gaming didn't need cutting-edge graphics to succeed — its monochrome screen and legendary battery life, combined with Tetris as a pack-in, made it a cultural phenomenon. Game Boy cartridges are famously durable, so this remains one of the more accessible retro platforms to collect, though translucent color variants and complete-in-box copies with the original brick-sized manual add real value for condition-focused collectors.
Gamevaro tracks Spot: The Cool Adventure for Game Boy with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Spot: The Cool Adventure to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This GB release dates back to 1994.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Spot: The Cool Adventure, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Game Boy titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
