Although in full 3D, the game is played from the top down perspective to allow the player to view more of the track as well as showing how small the Micro Machines really are.
The game was later ported to the Nintendo 64.
Ths number of vehicles was reduced from 32 to 31 and the number of courses was reduced from 48 to 43.
However, a Turbo setting was added which let the player choose how fast the cars would go and although only four controllers are allowed on an N64, up to 8 people can play at any one time using what's called Pad Share (where one person uses one side of the controller, stearing with the Directional pad, while the other player uses the four C-buttons).
The N64 version also came with a vehicle inside the box.
About Nintendo 64
The Nintendo 64 (1996) stuck with cartridges after most competitors moved to CDs, trading longer load times for near-instant game access and durability that's held up well over nearly three decades. N64 cartridges are largely intact and functional today, and while common titles are affordable, several late-release and multiplayer-focused games with smaller print runs have become firmly established as valuable collector pieces.
Gamevaro tracks Micro Machines for Nintendo 64 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Micro Machines to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This N64 release dates back to 1999.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Micro Machines has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
