This games adds representatives for the remaining Tarot Major Arcana, as well as introducing a "daughter" Strength character that more closely resembles the traditional depiction of Strength.

The game adds a third button, which allows players to add rows to their field at any time.

Additionally, attacks now sends lines to the opponent in non-even rows that vary by character.

About Neo Geo AES

SNK's Neo Geo AES (1990) was marketed as the ultimate home arcade experience, using the same hardware as SNK's arcade cabinets — at an extraordinarily high price for both the console and its cartridges. That exclusivity is exactly why Neo Geo AES games remain among the most expensive in all of retro collecting; several titles routinely sell for well over a thousand euros in good condition.

Gamevaro tracks Magical Drop III for Neo Geo AES with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Magical Drop III to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NEO release dates back to 1997.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Magical Drop III, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Neo Geo AES titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
