A Neo Geo Pocket port of Puyo Puyo Tsuu, licensed to SNK by Sega, was released in North America and Europe as Puyo Pop.

Unlike previous English Puyo Puyo games, the NGPC Puyo Pop retains both the character designs and (almost) all of the character names from the Japanese version.

SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color (1999) was a well-regarded handheld competitor to the Game Boy Color, praised for its analog stick and strong fighting-game library, but it exited the market early after SNK's parent company faced financial trouble. That short commercial life kept its library small, and complete, boxed copies — particularly of its fighting game ports — are a compact but genuinely collectible niche today.

Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
