At the time the nuclear blast reaches his house, a young fan of J-Rock band TM Network (who you name and play as) suddenly gets pulled into a time slip with his computer M.U.E. and travels through space-time to TM Network's rehearsal studio at Epic/Sony Records building on December 22nd 1989, T-minus 2 days until the launch of Colosseum.
So begins your quest to prevent nuclear apocalypse with the help of TM Network band members.
Unlike the other adventure games that follow the Japanese-style adventure formula on the Famicom, Live in Super Bowl plays more like a point-and-click graphic adventure game.
When you are not selecting dialogue options, your interactions only consist of 3 actions: Move to another location, examine which turns on the cursor to select objects on the screen and M.U.E. which opens your computer's interface.
M.U.E. will save the phone numbers and passcodes you obtain during the story and also acts as your hacking tool.
Toward the end, the game puts your through 2 mini-games of different genres.
The first is a first-person maze navigation game where you must avoid patrolling enemies.
The second is a truck driving game from the top-down perspective where you try to get back to the rehearsal studio without crashing the truck.
About Nintendo Entertainment System
The Nintendo Entertainment System (1983 in Japan, 1985 in the West) revived the North American video game industry after the 1983 crash and established conventions — cartridges, licensing seals, save systems — that shaped the industry for decades. NES collecting is one of the most established retro markets: common titles remain cheap, but a well-known handful of low-print-run games (many from smaller third-party publishers) are among the most expensive video games in existence.
Gamevaro tracks TM Network: Live in Power Bowl for Nintendo Entertainment System with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding TM Network: Live in Power Bowl to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NES release dates back to 1989.
