The player must help these creatures reclaim their land, but not only do they control them, they can take care of them, developing new abilities and skills.
Each units have unique abilities: the ecolis grow healing trees that distributes health throughout the other units, the ecomon transports special items and news to Dorian (a elder creature of the woods that helps the player along during the game) and ecoby build bridges and dams which helps units cross bodies of water.
Players must also watch their units "Mana" which can determine how they will fight during a battle.
The lower the "Mana" the better the chance they will flee while the highest will have the creature fight till the bitter end.
These are determined of how players react to situational cutscenes throughout the game.
The gameplay mostly consists of using the stylus pen, selecting various options through interface menus to do multiple things, such as selecting creatures or cast spells against enemies.
There are 40 missions to play in as well as multiplayer abilities either through Wi-Fi or game sharing using one cartridge.
Players can compete against each other head-to-head or share info and stats as well use custom made maps.
About Nintendo DS
The dual-screen, touch-enabled Nintendo DS (2004) became the best-selling handheld of all time, helped by its huge and genre-diverse library. Cartridge-based DS games have held up well physically over 20 years, and complete-in-box copies of the system's biggest sellers (Nintendogs, Pokémon, Mario Kart) remain very accessible for new collectors starting out.
Gamevaro tracks Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest for Nintendo DS with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NDS release dates back to 2008.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Nintendo DS titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
