Mushroom Men: Rise of the Fungi is a platform game and prequel to the Wii title Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars .
After a comet passes Earth, narrowly missing it, green dust from the comet enters earths atmosphere.

The dust causes plants and fungi to become sentient and forming tribes in order to survive the harsh human world.
Rise of the Fungi lets the player play through the events preceding the spore wars featured in the Wii title.
The game is played from a side scrolling perspective and has over ten levels, along the way items can be found and converted into weapons with the stylus to defeat enemies.
Before starting the player has to choose between three different character types: Heavy, Sage, and Scout.
The game includes a single-player and two player cooperative mode.
