The game is built in a modified version of the EDuke32 source port of the famed Build engine that powered Duke Nukem 3D , Shadow Warrior , and Blood , which brings modern additions to an otherwise quite old-school experience, such as high resolution support, higher-quality textures, and autosaves running alongside regular manual game saving options, while retaining the bulk of the gameplay from these titles.
On 28 February 2018, the Preview Campaign was released, having but one short episode that ends in a boss fight.
Shelly has four weapons available to her, with her signature three-barreled revolver and homing bombs first seen in Bombshell also making a return.
The game prides itself in the level of interactivity with the environment, and rewards exploration and uncovering secrets, some of which bring bonuses like health, armour and/or ammo pickups.
About Nintendo Switch
Released in 2017, the Nintendo Switch became one of the best-selling consoles of all time thanks to its hybrid handheld/docked design. Its cartridge-based physical format (as opposed to discs) has made complete-in-box collecting popular again, with certain limited print runs and Nintendo-published exclusives already commanding a premium on the secondhand market just a few years after release.
Gamevaro tracks Ion Fury for Nintendo Switch with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Ion Fury to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This NSW release dates back to 2019.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Ion Fury has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
