In general manager mode, when you go into the off-season, several different things happen.
First, you'll see a list of players who have retired from your team and the reasons they've left, which are usually related to injuries or diminishing skills.
If you lose some key players, then you'll need to make every effort to ensure that those positions are filled by free agents with similar skills or rookies who have solid potential.
You're frequently stuck with trying your luck in the draft, where you can select a rookie based on how you finished the season, like in the real NFL draft.
GameDay has a feature that gives you a breakdown on the draft and provides you with an overall rating for each rookie.
Following the draft, you have to sign your rookies with whatever cap money you've set aside for that purpose.
When you're all done, it's time to start the next season.
There's also a tournament mode where you can select up to 16 teams.
There's also a regular season mode, similar to the franchise mode, except it lacks the off-season part.
GameDay's best new feature is online play support.
You can view your online stats, and see who the best players are online to challenge.
About PlayStation
The original PlayStation (1994) brought CD-based gaming and 3D graphics to the mainstream, ending Nintendo's console dominance of the previous two generations. It's now firmly in "retro collecting" territory: original jewel cases with intact manuals command a real premium over disc-only copies, and several RPGs from its later years (when Sony deliberately courted the genre) are among the most expensive commonly-collected games from the era.
Gamevaro tracks NFL gameday 2003 for PlayStation with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding NFL gameday 2003 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS1 release dates back to 2002.
