About this game
pop'n music is the first title in Konami's long-running rhythm game series, and the second Bemani series after the original beatmania .
Very similar to its sister game beatmania , pop'n music ditches the turntable and keyboard in favor of nine large candy-colored buttons, but otherwise plays much the same.

Notes scroll toward the bottom of the screen, and the player must tap the correct buttons in time with the music to play along.
Play well, and the "groove meter" increases, but play poorly and it will drop.
If the groove meter is high enough at the end of the song, the player can move on to the next song.
This first release includes all of the music from the original arcade release, along with several new original tracks.
There is also the standard arcade mode, along with a training mode and a beginner's mode that only uses 5 or 7 of the 9 buttons.
About PlayStation
The original PlayStation (1994) brought CD-based gaming and 3D graphics to the mainstream, ending Nintendo's console dominance of the previous two generations. It's now firmly in "retro collecting" territory: original jewel cases with intact manuals command a real premium over disc-only copies, and several RPGs from its later years (when Sony deliberately courted the genre) are among the most expensive commonly-collected games from the era.
Gamevaro tracks Pop'n Music (1998) for PlayStation with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Pop'n Music (1998) to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS1 release dates back to 1998.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Pop'n Music (1998), suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
