Ace Combat: Distant Thunder
PlayStation 2 · 2001
About this game
In Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere the player takes the place of an ace fighter pilot who works for an organization called "UPEO" and has to accomplish various missions, e.g. taking out a special aircraft carrier or taking out enemy satellite systems in orbit around earth.
The player can earn ratings from A to D: the higher the rating, the higher the chance that the player can acquire new kinds of planes.

The game has many environments which range from normal aerial missions to stratospheric missions and even outer space missions.
There is also an autopilot feature which can be used to land or reach a destination.
This international version of Ace Combat 3 has revised the story into a completely linear one, removing the branching decisions and multiple endings of the original.
This conversion process also took out most of the characters, news reel FMVs and some missions.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks Ace Combat: Distant Thunder for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Ace Combat: Distant Thunder to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2001.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Ace Combat: Distant Thunder has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
