Biathlon consists of two elements: cross-country skiing and rifle shooting on a shooting range.
The racing parts require the player to keep an eye on his avatar's stamina so he won't be worn out.
In the shooting sequences he has to shoot five stationary targets as quickly as possible.
The game features 17 tracks to race on spread across 13 different locations.
Players can compose their own characters from different stats that determine their prowess in various skills.
Top bi-athletes Magdalena Neuner, Kati Wilhelm, Michael Greis and Sven Fischer are also playable.
Multiplayer is possible through 4-player hot seat and 2-player split-screen mode.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks Biathlon 2008 for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Biathlon 2008 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2008.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Biathlon 2008, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 2 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
