About this game

Bionicle is a single-player action game.

The story follows the heroes of Mata Nui, an island divided into six elemental regions of fire, water, air, earth, stone, and ice.

Players take control of the Toa, mighty warriors who harness elemental powers, and must rescue the scattered Matoran villagers while undoing the corruption spread by the shadowy Makuta.

The journey progresses as each Toa is transformed into their stronger Toa Nuva form, culminating in the appearance of the legendary seventh Toa, destined to face Makuta directly.

Gameplay is structured around a series of linear stages themed after the island’s elemental domains.

Each Toa has unique abilities that align with their element: Tahu manipulates fire, Gali commands water, Lewa harnesses wind, and others wield stone, earth, or ice.

Elemental blasts are the primary method of offense, used to defeat enemies and interact with the environment.

Stages also include environmental hazards such as falling rocks, icy ledges, gusting winds, and lava flows that must be navigated carefully to progress.

Combat emphasizes timing and energy management.

Elemental powers can be charged for stronger attacks, and successful strikes recharge health by collecting spheres of light dropped from fallen foes.

Boss encounters require mastery of each Toa’s abilities, such as using ice powers to halt dangerous flows or employing fire blasts to clear obstacles.

As the story advances, players gain access to the Toa Nuva forms, which provide enhanced powers and movement options.

The final section introduces the seventh Toa, offering new abilities designed for the climactic battle against Makuta.

Stages include collectible masks of power hidden throughout the environments.

These masks serve as optional challenges and rewards.

Collectibles contribute to overall completion but are not strictly required to finish the story.

About PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.

Gamevaro tracks Bionicle for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Bionicle to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2003.

Rarity & condition

Bionicle has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
