Their relationship has seemingly improved since then, but Tomoya's injuries, mental and physical, have led him to a delinquent life.
This changes when he meets Nagisa Furukawa, a soft-spoken girl who gets sick easily.
Tomoya begins to help her reform a drama club she failed to join last year, and gradually changes his view about life.
Clannad is a visual novel.
The game is dedicated to the development of the story, displayed as still images accompanied by text.
The player's interaction is confined to occasional "decision points", which prompt him to make choices for Tomoya, altering subsequent events.
The game is divided into two parts; the second one describes the lives of its main characters some time after the conclusion of the first one.
In order to access the second part, the player has to play through all the scenarios of the first one, which are only possible to achieve by replaying it and making different choices each time.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks Clannad for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Clannad to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2006.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Clannad has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
