Fate/unlimited codes is a four-button fighter, with light, medium, and heavy attacks as well as a Reflect Guard that uses a meter.
The meter in this game (which is called the Magic Gauge) can be used for a variety of different universal moves, such as the aforementioned Reflect Guard (which is a parry that can allow for cancelling attacks), Advancing Guard (pushblock), Guard Cancel (which pushes the opponent away when blocking), Magic Burst (activation, which pushes the opponent away and provides temporary buffs, including character-specific ones when the meter is full) and supers.
Normal supers just use the standard meter, while Holy Grail supers can be used by filling up both the Magic meter and the Holy Grail, and can only be used when the player is in the Grail Advantage state.
The Grail supers will always deal a set amount of damage regardless of scaling.
The Holy Grail is filled by performing combos, and the Advantage state is decided by who fills it first.
The PS2 version contains three extra characters, but otherwise plays the same as the arcade version.
Each of the 17 characters gets specific challenges, which are combo trials, as well as EX challenges which are small minigames involving the characters.
Most of the characters are from Fate/stay night , but Luviagelita and Bazett from Fate/hollow ataraxia and Zero Lancer from the Fate/Zero light novel also appear.
Alongside the challenges each character gets an arcade mode route with pre- and post-battle dialogue.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks Fate/Unlimited Codes [SP Box] for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Fate/Unlimited Codes [SP Box] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2008.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Fate/Unlimited Codes [SP Box], suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 2 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
