About this game

Hissatsu Ura Kagyō is an action game set in Japan during the Edo period, inspired by the popular Hissatsu Series historical drama (jidaigeki).

The player controls Keijirō Teitō, who by day is a well-liked doctor in his hometown.

However, by night, he takes up his sword and exacts bloody vengeance on the wicked and the corrupt.

During the daytime, the player can move about Keijirō's hometown, speaking with people to gather information, visiting the many shops such as a restaurant and a bookstore, and perhaps even getting into a fight now and then.

Returning to his home allows him to save the game, view and accept the current job requests, and consult with his father about a variety of topics.

During the night, the game becomes more like a stealth action game such as Tenchu.

Controlling either Keijirō or one of several other characters, the player must continue to gather information about the targets for each request while evading detection, eventually reaching the main target who must be killed.

Successfully completing requests will earn money and reputation.

About PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.

Gamevaro tracks Hissatsu Ura-Kagyou for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Hissatsu Ura-Kagyou to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2005.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Hissatsu Ura-Kagyou, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 2 titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
