About this game

In the late 22nd century, humans have commenced a construction of an orbital elevator to the Moon.

A Reploid named Lumine was put in charge of the project.

Lumine belonged to the new generation of Reploids, which were apparently unable to become Mavericks (i.e. turn hostile towards humans).

Soon thereafter, Lumine was kidnapped by unknown assailants.

The team of Maverick Hunters, composed of X, Axl, and Zero, must pursue the abductors and find what they were truly after.

However, they will also have to deal with familiar enemies from the past...

Mega Man X8 is similar in visual style to earlier Mega Man X games, moving away from the 3D gameplay elements introduced by its predecessor .

As in classic Mega Man games, the player is free to tackle the levels in any order, and must defeat a boss at the end of each.

The player is able to control X, Axl, and Zero, which are distinguished by their gameplay style: X is able to equip body parts and armor, Axl specializes in guns and can also hover and glide in the air, while Zero focuses on short-range attacks.

About PlayStation 2

The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.

Gamevaro tracks Mega Man X8 for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Mega Man X8 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2004.

Rarity & condition

Mega Man X8 has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
