Mystic Heroes

The gameplay itself is simple: the player wades through enemy hordes and kills them all.

There are eight playable characters which all have different advantages and disadvantages.

The combat is basically a combination of sword attacks, magical attacks and combo attacks.

During the course of the game, the player can find magical runes which give him additional magical abilities and power-ups, e.g. health and mana refreshments or temporary and permanent improvements to the attacking and defending statistics.

In fact, some of these runes have to be earned by completing the story mode multiple times - the player can use the same character for this and gets to retain their abilities and statistics.

Mana also replenishes with every defeated foe.

Besides the main story mode, there is also a Survival mode.

This version of the game features several additions in comparison to the GameCube version : increased magic levels (depending on the runes equipped), four new playable characters, a new boss, levels can be chosen separately after beating the game, plus the new Mission Mode.

In this mode, the player has to solve small missions, e.g. defending a castle or escorting ghosts.

Mystic Heroes for PlayStation 2 is currently worth €16.39 loose, €11.15 complete in box, and €24.27 factory sealed. Prices are based on real sales and update regularly on Gamevaro.

Mystic Heroes has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning it trades hands regularly and isn't considered particularly rare.

Loose means cartridge or disc only, CIB (complete in box) includes the original box and manual, and sealed means factory-sealed and never opened. For Mystic Heroes, loose is €16.39 and CIB is €11.15 — CIB commands a premium because original boxes and manuals are fragile and often don't survive.

The PAL version of Mystic Heroes is currently worth €16.39 loose, versus €13.56 for NTSC-U. Regional price differences usually come down to print run size and regional collector demand.
