Falling under a pirate attack you end up stranded in an unknown island, and now you, your ward and the pirates must fight their way to freedom and uncover a few secrets in the way.
The game uses a 2D isometric engine to portray the main characters in the world map as they explore each location chatting with NPCs for clues and items, and switches to a tile-based map for combat in which you arrange your party and battle against the many creatures and enemies you run into using spells, attacks and summon abilities.
The game now allows you to turn yourself into a your guardian creature, which augments your abilities considerably.
But using this morphed form too much has an effect on which ending you receive (as does which characters you select at the beginning of the game).
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks Summon Night 3 for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Summon Night 3 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2003.
