The story progresses in a typical visual novel style where one reads onscreen text, talks to present characters and moves from location to location in a determined order.
Free movement is not done directly on a map but is rather scheduled.
During school and lunch breaks you can schedule places on school campus you wish to visit, and after school you can schedule the place around the town you wish to visit.
Depending on place you visit, you may meet different girls, or if noone's there you will soon leave the place without engaging in any dialogue with anyone.
The game uses full voice acting for heroines and character animation when they talk.
Going one step further, while walking sometime the background moves as well as the character you walk with, and distant character also appear smaller and in distance where you can see more of their figure.
The story is split in three school semesters and each comes on a single CD-ROM and can be played in any order at the beginning of a new game.
Initial setup lets you name your character and adjust some of your character's stats.
Heroine galleries can be accessed via main menu but the CG event scenes there are unlocked as you play the game story.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks True Love Story: Summer Days for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding True Love Story: Summer Days to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for True Love Story: Summer Days, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 2 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
