With their heavily armed tanks, the combatants do not just destroy each other: they lay waste to everything around them...
World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks is a tank combat game that has similarities with BattleTanx games, as well as vehicular combat titles in the vein of Twisted Metal .
Single-player gameplay consists of a tournament mode, in which the player selects a tank and takes it through a series of combat matches.
The game's focus, however, is on the multiplayer, which includes different modes: deathmatch, capture-the-flag, frenzy, (a capture-the-flag variant with randomly appearing flags), as well as a so-called "domination mode", in which players must capture several tank generators scattered across the arena.
Up to four players can compete in each of the multiplayer modes.
Various power-ups can be picked up on the arenas.
These include turbo boosts, shields, fire missiles, grenades, mines, artillery and satellite strike (which allow players to target a specific spot on the arena and bombard it with missiles or a focused ion cannon blast), as well as guided missiles, which can be steered through the arena.
About PlayStation 2
The PlayStation 2 (2000) is the best-selling game console in history, with a library exceeding 9,000 titles that spans everything from budget shovelware to genre-defining classics. That massive volume means PS2 collecting is accessible and affordable overall, but a handful of low-print-run RPGs and cult titles have become genuinely expensive — a common pattern once a console's original audience grows up with disposable income.
Gamevaro tracks World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks for PlayStation 2 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS2 release dates back to 2000.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 2 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
