The concept has been translated as a 3D one-on-one fighting game.
It is similar in design to the Street Fighter games for instance, except that the focus is on deadly efficiency.
Rounds generally last only a few seconds, the number of moves is limited (without combos), and the characters can only take very little damage.
Every hit also renders them less able to fight with broken limbs, to fatal wounds and even amputation.
In that way it is more similar to games such as Bushido Blade .
Every character has a very different fighting style, from the swift ninja to a sturdy and well-armored knight.
They only have realistic weapons and the fighting style also aims to be authentic, without special moves or unrealistic gameplay.
Weapons are used for melee combat, but also from a distance including projectile-based attacks.
Before starting the game players get to choose a character and select the weapons from a limited pool.
Not everything is available right away, it needs to be unlocked in the single-player ladder mode.
The characters can move freely in the open, 3D arenas and also sidestep.
Multiplayer is supported for online tournaments and in the singleplayer mode there is a number of challenges, and mini-games based on show fragments where pig carcasses need to be sliced with a set time limit for instance.
A large part of the animation was created through motion capture with the original actors of the show.
There are eight warriors included:* Apache Knight Ninja Pirate Roman Centurion Samurai Spartan Viking
About PlayStation 3
Released in 2006, the PlayStation 3 had a rocky start thanks to its high launch price but became known for its exclusive franchises and Blu-ray drive, which doubled as an early home theater upgrade for many households. PS3 collecting is still relatively young — most titles are inexpensive — but the console's digital PSN storefront closure risk has pushed more collectors toward physical copies specifically to preserve access.
Gamevaro tracks Deadliest Warrior: The Game for PlayStation 3 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Deadliest Warrior: The Game to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS3 release dates back to 2010.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Deadliest Warrior: The Game, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 3 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
