The game focuses on the major four Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, French Open, US Open, and Wimbledon) with all the top players licensed for their name and likeness.

Compared to the cartoon-like look of the first title, this one has a much more realistic visual style.

It also includes the official courts and many known brands, including a tie-in to ESPN for broadcast integration.

Just like in the first game Pat Cash delivers the commentary and analysis is done by John McEnroe.

Next to famous contemporary players such as Djokovic, Federer, Henin, Murray, Nadal, Sharapova, Williams ... it includes historical players such as Becker, Borg, Evert, McEnroe and Navratilova.

Controls of shots is based on a control scheme dubbed Total Racquet Control.

It allows players to determine the accuracy, power and precision of shots using the right analogue stick, used for every shot from backhand to forehand, smashes, volleys and serves.

For instance just moving forward creates a flat shot, moving backwards adds spin, a quick flick forwards introduces top spin etc.

This system can be practiced under the guidance of McEnroe in the Academy.

Alternatively there is a separate control layout where different buttons are assigned for specific shots.

The PS3 version also has optional support for the Move peripheral.

The main career mode can last up to ten years where a new player can go through multiple seasons until the number one spot is reached.

Leading up to Grand Slams there are training sessions, exhibition matches and minor tournaments.

Participating in these is rewarded with points that contribute to a total ranking.

There are also quick games for singles and doubles, online matches, 25 classic matches called ESPN Grand Slam Tournament Classics starting fro

About PlayStation 3

Released in 2006, the PlayStation 3 had a rocky start thanks to its high launch price but became known for its exclusive franchises and Blu-ray drive, which doubled as an early home theater upgrade for many households. PS3 collecting is still relatively young — most titles are inexpensive — but the console's digital PSN storefront closure risk has pushed more collectors toward physical copies specifically to preserve access.

Gamevaro tracks Grand Slam Tennis 2 for PlayStation 3 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Grand Slam Tennis 2 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS3 release dates back to 2012.
