These are categorized into three types: monster (slow and easy to handle), sport (fast and hard to handle) and the buggy which falls between.
The courses are not realistic and feature a wide variety of obstacles (slow the car down when hit), shortcuts and jumps.
While using the latter, the player can initiate stunts, on PS3 optionally through move controls, and if successful (i.e. landing on the wheels) a large boost to the nitro bar is earned.
Other ways to recharge nitro is to collect soda cans and crates on the way.
The PlayStation 3 version additionally includes online multiplayer for up six players.
It uses the same tracks as the single-player game.
About PlayStation 3
Released in 2006, the PlayStation 3 had a rocky start thanks to its high launch price but became known for its exclusive franchises and Blu-ray drive, which doubled as an early home theater upgrade for many households. PS3 collecting is still relatively young — most titles are inexpensive — but the console's digital PSN storefront closure risk has pushed more collectors toward physical copies specifically to preserve access.
Gamevaro tracks Smash Cars for PlayStation 3 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Smash Cars to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS3 release dates back to 2009.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Smash Cars, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 3 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
