Set in the surreal and oppressive world known as the Nowhere, the story follows two children, Low and Alone, as they attempt to escape a succession of nightmarish realms populated by monstrous inhabitants referred to as the Residents.
Low carries a bow, while Alone wields a wrench, tools that serve both as character identifiers and essential gameplay mechanics for traversal and puzzle-solving.
The game can be played in single-player or online co-op, with the second character controlled by an AI companion when playing solo.
Cooperation is central to progression: players alternate between characters to overcome obstacles, solve environmental puzzles, and evade enemies.
Each stage introduces new environmental hazards and unique mechanics based on the duo’s tools.
For instance, Low's arrows can hit distant switches or sever ropes, while Alone's wrench is used to break barriers, activate machinery, or defend against threats.
Progression follows a linear chapter-based structure, each of the four main areas representing a distinct nightmare world such as the Necropolis, Candy Factory, and Funfair Promenade.
Levels combine platforming, stealth, and light physics-based problem-solving.
Gameplay rhythm alternates between exploration, chase sequences, and set-piece encounters with large antagonists such as the Monster Baby or swarms of Candy Weevils.
The visual presentation retains the series’ signature blend of handcrafted detail, grotesque imagery, and cinematic lighting, realized in 3D with fixed and dynamic camera angles.
Narratively, the game explores themes of fear, dependence, and childhood resilience.
Low and Alone's journey across the Spiral gradually reveals fragments of their pasts and the underlying structure of the Nowhere.
The story unfolds without dialogue,
About PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 (2013) cemented Sony's dominance of the eighth console generation, with a library exceeding 30,000 titles once indie and digital-only releases are counted. Most PS4 games remain affordable for collectors, but limited physical print runs — particularly from smaller publishers and later in the console's life cycle — are starting to see steady price increases as digital storefronts eventually wind down support.
Gamevaro tracks Little Nightmares III for PlayStation 4 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Little Nightmares III to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS4 release dates back to 2025.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Little Nightmares III, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 4 titles.
