The game can be played with a classic top-down view or two third-person perspectives.
There is a general career mode, a quick race mode and multiplayer, offline for up four and online for up to eight players.
The career mode consists of eight racing classes unlocked gradually and six events for each.
By completing races credits are earned and points.
The latter are used to unlock new races.
Race modes include classic multi-lap track racing against opponents, time trial, elimination, evade (elimination with mines on the track) and time-based checkpoint races.
There are twelve different tracks based on four locations.
Credits are used to unlock new cars and buy upgrades.
Cars have different statistics based on acceleration, maximum speed, handling, weight, drift and boost.
There are different paint jobs and cars can be upgraded one time for the following parts: boost, engine, turbo, tyres, gearbox, weight reduction and brakes.
There are sixteen cars in total.
Races often have shortcuts and various obstacles.
There are also seven power-ups to collect: oil spill, glue spill, mine, spring trap, boost filling, 8 ball (a giant billiard ball is launched) and missile.
By drifting and jumping a boost bar is filled.
When full it can be activated to gain extra speed.
Drifting is done through a separate key or button.
There are two drifting modes that can be defined in the options, one where the key needs to be held down and another where you press it once to start drifting and once more to stop.
The game includes a track editor and through Steam Workshop integration custom tracks can be shared with other players.
Races have a a replay mode and there is a short, interactive tutorial where the mechanics are introduced.
About PlayStation 4
The PlayStation 4 (2013) cemented Sony's dominance of the eighth console generation, with a library exceeding 30,000 titles once indie and digital-only releases are counted. Most PS4 games remain affordable for collectors, but limited physical print runs — particularly from smaller publishers and later in the console's life cycle — are starting to see steady price increases as digital storefronts eventually wind down support.
Gamevaro tracks Super Toy Cars 2 for PlayStation 4 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Super Toy Cars 2 to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS4 release dates back to 2019.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Super Toy Cars 2, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 4 titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
