About this game

The Assembly is a first-person adventure game that tells a story of two scientists who found themselves working for a secret organization which performs some inhumane tests to further their progress.

Caleb Pearson has been working for the organization for years and after realizing what kind of organization he is working for, he is looking for a way out.

On the other hand, Madeline is a scientist who found herself in a position to start working for the same organization, but before she gets the job, she has to undergo a series of trials which test her psyche and personality rather than her skills as a scientist.

The game is one of the launch VR titles for PlayStation 4 platform, and as such supports teleportation system, but the game also supports TV mode with directional movement system (though teleportation movement is available in TV mode as well).

In VR mode there is no player character to see, but using headset provides different camera angles and lets the player inspect areas and objects in more detail not possible in TV mode.

Many objects can be interacted with, such as opening doors, lockers and drawers, punching in the codes, hacking into computers and reading emails, or using one of many audio players around the complex which set the BGM ambiance.

Key items will automatically be put in the inventory and available for use at certain places if in possession, though there is no inventory system where player can go through items in one's inventory.

Game is split in several chapters, each played by a different protagonist, Caleb or Madeline, interchangeably, and mostly focuses on exploration and solving puzzles.

While dialogues are present, there is no selection in how one wants to respond or what one would like to ask.

About PlayStation 4

The PlayStation 4 (2013) cemented Sony's dominance of the eighth console generation, with a library exceeding 30,000 titles once indie and digital-only releases are counted. Most PS4 games remain affordable for collectors, but limited physical print runs — particularly from smaller publishers and later in the console's life cycle — are starting to see steady price increases as digital storefronts eventually wind down support.

Gamevaro tracks The Assembly for PlayStation 4 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding The Assembly to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS4 release dates back to 2016.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for The Assembly, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common PlayStation 4 titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
