About this game
Tropico 6 is a real-time building simulation game which marks a shift in development team, engine and mechanics.
The player is once again placed in the role of El Presidente, the dictator of the fictional Caribbean country of Tropico, and has to develop the country either to meet objectives in individual missions or do as they see fit in the sandbox mode.

The largest change is that Tropico is no longer a single island, but an archipelago of multiple islands which can be built upon and connected with bridges and ports, including making use of the new public transportation system.
Through the 4 eras (Colonial, World Wars, Cold War, Modern Times), the player has to research different technologies, buildings and edicts to advance to the next one.
Each era brings different global superpowers to balance relations with, but also additional internal factions to ally with or condemn.
To boost the internal economy and tourism, the player can sign trade deals with other countries and perform acts of piracy, including attacking neighboring countries and stealing entire landmarks to be placed on Tropican territory.
As before, elections can be optionally rigged to the player's favor, presidential speeches can boost popularity based on the chosen subjects, and a military needs to be maintained to defend against internal rebellions and dissatisfied global powers.
The game can be played in singleplayer or in online co-op for up to 4 players.
About PlayStation 5
Launched in late 2020, the PlayStation 5 introduced ultra-fast SSD loading and ray tracing to mainstream console gaming. It's still early in its collecting life cycle, but the Digital Edition (no disc drive) has already created a meaningful split in the market between disc-based and digital-only PS5 owners — something collectors should keep in mind when comparing prices for the "same" game.
Gamevaro tracks Tropico 6 [Next Gen Edition] for PlayStation 5 with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Tropico 6 [Next Gen Edition] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This PS5 release dates back to 1970.

Rarity & condition
