The player can either control the plane from a first person perspective behind the cockpit or with the camera pulled back behind the plane.
It features several modes, with the training mode, free flight and mission mode returning from the previous games.
The training mode explains the basic mechanics to the player such as how to control the plane.
The free flight mode allows the player to fly over the game's areas without any requirements.
The mission mode requires the player to complete various objectives under a time limit and achieving a minimum score.
The missions are split into various categories, such as the air attack missions where the player must shoot down all the balloons within the time limit.
New planes are unlocked as the player completes missions.
The main addition that Aero Dancing i adds to the series is the internet battle mode, which allows up to four players to fight each other online in aerial dogfights.
The game also expands on the combat options, including by the addition of ground attacks.
About Sega Dreamcast
Sega's final console, the Dreamcast (1998/1999), was ahead of its time with built-in internet connectivity and an influential library, but a short commercial lifespan cut its game catalog short. That abrupt end means Dreamcast print runs were smaller across the board than a longer-lived console would have had, and it's now one of the more actively collected fifth/sixth-generation systems specifically because of that scarcity.
Gamevaro tracks Aero Dancing for Sega Dreamcast with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Aero Dancing to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This DC release dates back to 2000.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Aero Dancing has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
