About this game

A group of space pirates known as the Cosmo Gang is concocting an evil scheme, which involves smuggling rare fruits and using them for their own foul purposes.

Two young mecha pilots, Riki and his sister Mami board a giant mecha called Bangai-O, in order to confront the pirates in battle and foil their villainous plans.

Bangai-O is a multi-directional shooter and a spiritual successor to Hover Attack .

The player maneuvers the titular mecha and shoots in eight directions.

Two firing modes represent switching between the two pilots.

Riki fires homing missiles, while Mami's shots bounce off walls.

Enemies drop fruits upon defeat, which are equivalent to power-ups in other games.

It is also possible to execute a special attack that consists of a burst of shots fired in all directions.

Scoring successful combos (or increasing explosion count in the Dreamcast version) leads to higher-level power-ups.

About Sega Dreamcast

Sega's final console, the Dreamcast (1998/1999), was ahead of its time with built-in internet connectivity and an influential library, but a short commercial lifespan cut its game catalog short. That abrupt end means Dreamcast print runs were smaller across the board than a longer-lived console would have had, and it's now one of the more actively collected fifth/sixth-generation systems specifically because of that scarcity.

Gamevaro tracks Bangai-O [Prize Edition] for Sega Dreamcast with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Bangai-O [Prize Edition] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically.

Rarity & condition

Bangai-O [Prize Edition] has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.

Condition matters a lot for collector value: loose (cartridge/disc only), complete-in-box (CIB, with original packaging and manual) and factory-sealed copies are tracked separately because the price gap between them can be significant, especially for older releases.
