Castle Fantasia: Seima Taisen is a renewed version of the original Castle Fantasia: Seima Taisen from two years earlier.
Like the original game, it is a tactical RPG and a prequel to Castle Fantasia which tells the story of a war between the Inshiera Empire and the Ruushiera Republic.

The player takes on the role of Hewie Elzard, a soldier who is about to change the course of the war with the heroines under his command.
This improved version has half of the original CGs redrawn in higher resolution (with the other half being omitted) and voice acting for all the text spoken by the characters in-game.
The combat system is also different: heroines' stats are now determined by their levels gained by attacking and casting spells instead of their feeling towards Hewie.
In addition, the yaoi ending has been removed and a happy ending has been added for Somia Alster.
