This potential is a power that can either destroy him, or realize his will.
His courage shall determine his fate.
The path he must traverse, fraught with adversity, I await whilst praying.
For this destiny predetermined since ancient times...
A pitch, black night unfolds with the morning star as its only light.
And thus the saga, begins..."
This first chapter of Shenmue kicks off Yu Suzuki's cinematic Dreamcast tour-de-force, an exploration-heavy adventure that has players immerse themselves in Yokosuka, Japan.
Players slip into the role of a young martial artist named Ryo Hazuki, who is on the trail of his father's killer.
On the way, players must talk with hundreds of characters, engage in martial arts battles, and marvel at the realistic depiction of the Japanese coastal town.
About Sega Dreamcast
Sega's final console, the Dreamcast (1998/1999), was ahead of its time with built-in internet connectivity and an influential library, but a short commercial lifespan cut its game catalog short. That abrupt end means Dreamcast print runs were smaller across the board than a longer-lived console would have had, and it's now one of the more actively collected fifth/sixth-generation systems specifically because of that scarcity.
Gamevaro tracks Shenmue [White Label] for Sega Dreamcast with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Shenmue [White Label] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Shenmue [White Label] has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
