Each worm has 100 hitpoints and dies when his hit points fall to 0.
Upon death, a worm explodes, causing damage to everyone around.
Gameplay is turn-based.
Each turn, the player can control one specific worm from his team.
The worm can crawl left and right or jump.
However, there is a time limit to make a move; also, if the worm falls from a great height, it loses health and the turn ends immediately; and if a worm falls into water or offscreen, it dies.
Each turn, a worm can also make a single attack: the player can aim up and down, choose a weapon and then fire it.
After attacking, the turn ends.
There are a lot of weapons available - the standard ones as bazookas (which are affected by the (random) wind settings and gravity) and grenades.
The others include a Fire Punch, dynamite, airstrikes, and utilities such as ropes and girders.
There are 10 styles of terrain, ranging from forests and deserts to Candy land and the moon (complete with affected gravity).
Shots leave craters in the ground, and complex tunnels can be formed.
About Sega Genesis
Known as the Mega Drive outside North America, the Sega Genesis (1988/1989) was Sega's most successful console and Sonic the Hedgehog's original home, fueling the "console wars" era against Nintendo's SNES. Genesis cartridge collecting is well-established: common sports and platformer titles are affordable, while sports-license and later-era games with smaller print runs can carry a meaningful premium.
Gamevaro tracks Worms for Sega Genesis with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Worms to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This GEN release dates back to 1995.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Worms has a steady sales history on the tracked marketplaces, meaning enough copies circulate to establish a reliable market price.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
