About this game

Renegade is the scrolling beat 'em up which started the Kunio / Nekketsu High series.

The Japanese original has a high school bullying theme and takes takes place in a Japanese city where you have to protect your classmate, whereas its western version named Renegade has been graphically shifted to brawlers and thugs and is set in the mean streets of Brooklyn where you must venture to find your girlfriend and rescue her from her kidnappers.

The game is split into different levels, taking you through the subway and the docks as well as some inhospitable streets, each ending in a boss fight.

A wide range of aggressive moves are on offer, including headbutts, kicks, punches and flying kicks.

Much of the game's violence is depicted in a fairly tongue-in-cheek style, with an element of attempted humour along the way.

The contemporary western home conversion, later produced an unofficial spin off series, consisting of Target: Renegade and Renegade III: The Final Chapter .

About Nintendo Wii

Launched in 2006, the Wii's motion controls (Wii Remote) brought casual and non-traditional players into console gaming at a scale no prior system had achieved, making it one of the best-selling consoles ever. Because so many Wii units sold with bundled software like Wii Sports, the bulk of the library is inexpensive to collect — but it also means truly rare Wii titles (often niche Japanese-only releases) stand out sharply from the norm.

Gamevaro tracks Renegade for Nintendo Wii with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Renegade to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This WII release dates back to 2008.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Renegade, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Nintendo Wii titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
