The game's title references the series' 20 year anniversary following the release of the original Tomb Raider in 1996.

The 20 Year Celebration Pack DLC included by default was launched simultaneously for the PC and Xbox One version as separate DLC.

That content was also added to owners of Rise of the Tomb Raider: Season Pass (PC / Xbox One) for free.

For those two platforms the download versions of the game were replaced with the new version for new purchases.

Exclusive to the PS4 version is VR support for some of the 20 Year Celebration Pack story content set in the Croft mansion.

It uses a teleport function to move around.
