Eggman, Fang the Sniper, and a new villain named Trip the Sungazer from conquering the North Star Islands and turning all animals into Badniks.
The player takes control of four characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy Rose, with Trip also being unlocked for play after completing the main story.
All five share basic abilities (such as the Spin Dash), but also have their unique powers (Knuckles can glide, Amy can destroy enemies with her hammer etc).
The player must complete 12 zones (with 1 or 2 acts for each zone).
Almost every act ends with a boss fight.
Throughout all acts are scattered the Giant Rings, which are used to access Special Stages, where the player can collect the Chaos Emeralds.
Each collected Emerald gives a certain power, and after collecting all 7 Emeralds, the character will be able to enter the Super State upon collecting 50 rings, giving the playable character invincibility and increased speed at the expense of losing rings.
The game features a local co-op mode allowing up to 4 players to play the game on a single screen.
Additionally, the game features Battle Mode, a player-versus-player mode that can be played either online or locally, where players control their robots and compete in three random battle stages that include races, shooting battles, collection challenges and last-man-standing battles.
Players can customise robots with various cosmetic items that can be acquired with Medals, which in turn are collected on main stages of the game or Special Stages.
About Xbox One
Microsoft's Xbox One launched in 2013 alongside the PS4 and leaned heavily into backwards compatibility and subscription services like Game Pass. Because so many Xbox One owners moved to all-digital libraries, physical Xbox One cartridges — sorry, discs — in good condition are comparatively less common on the secondhand market than their PlayStation equivalents from the same era.
Gamevaro tracks Sonic Superstars for Xbox One with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding Sonic Superstars to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This XONE release dates back to 2023.

Market insights
Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Sonic Superstars, suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Xbox One titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
