About this game

Based off the 2007 movie of the same name, Spider-Man 3 puts players in charge of the titular hero as he tries to once again New York City safe from the combined menace of the New Goblin, the Sandman, and Venom.

The game style is similar to Spider-Man 2 in which the player is free to explore a large scale version of New York City in a "Sandbox" style, this time in a larger city that allows for exploration of the subway and sewer systems.

The game also allows for players to adventure in storylines not explored in the third film, such as facing familiar Spider-Man villains like Kraven, the Lizard, Scorpion, Rhino and the Kingpin, or breaking up various gang factions.

One of the main focal points of the new game is the inclusion of Spider-Man's black symbiote costume.

When wearing the traditional red and blue costume, Spider-Man is more fast and is more accepted by the public.

When wearing the black costume, Spider-Man becomes stronger and more aggressive.

The game also includes "cineractives" - cinematic scenes that allow for participation via button presses or controller movements.

The black suit is allowed throughout various points in the game, but can not be selected by the player, and has no harmful effect.

The PS3 version supports the SixAxis controller's movement-based functions and it includes a mini-game starring the New Goblin.

About Xbox

Microsoft's original Xbox (2001) marked the company's first console and stood out for its built-in hard drive and Xbox Live service, which laid the groundwork for modern online console gaming. Original Xbox discs are prone to wear, so complete, undamaged copies — especially of the system's more niche or Japan-only titles — are less common than the console's overall sales figures might suggest.

Gamevaro tracks Spider-Man [Platinum Hits] for Xbox with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.

Adding Spider-Man [Platinum Hits] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This XBOX release dates back to 2002.

Rarity & condition

Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for Spider-Man [Platinum Hits], suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Xbox titles.

Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
