It allows players to play through different scenes from the films and follow Bilbo Baggins as he is recruited by Gandalf to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves.
Bilbo leaves the comforts of the Shire on a journey to help the Dwarves reclaim their lost Kingdom of Erebor within the Lonely Mountain.
Many dangers and adventures await and unexpected discovery of a certain ring.
The game follows in the footsteps of LEGO The Lord of the Rings by ditching the hub world in favor of an open-world setting where the levels are started.
The main gameplay is still based on fighting enemies.
New features include the backpack as an improved inventory, a new buddy mechanic (also improved from LEGO The Lord of the Rings ) and new resource collection in the form of loot.
Similar to The LEGO Movie Videogame players collect different LEGO pieces while destroying the environments which can then be used in building mini-games to progress in the story and solve puzzles.
About Nintendo Wii U
The Wii U (2012) was commercially Nintendo's least successful home console, hampered by market confusion over whether the GamePad tablet controller was a new device or a Wii accessory. Its low sales mean smaller overall print runs across the board, and several first-party and indie darlings have already become noticeably pricier than their commercial performance would suggest, since there are simply fewer copies in circulation.
Gamevaro tracks LEGO The Hobbit [Limited Edition] for Nintendo Wii U with separate market values for loose, complete-in-box (CIB) and factory-sealed copies, sourced from real eBay sales. Prices also vary by region — PAL, NTSC-U and NTSC-J releases of the same game often sell for different amounts due to print run sizes and regional collector demand.
Adding LEGO The Hobbit [Limited Edition] to a Gamevaro collection takes seconds — search by title or scan the box barcode, and the app fills in cover art, release details and current pricing automatically. This WIU release dates back to 2014.

Rarity & condition
Only a handful of market sales have been tracked for LEGO The Hobbit [Limited Edition], suggesting it doesn't trade hands very often — a sign of relative scarcity compared to more common Nintendo Wii U titles.
Complete-in-box (CIB) copies typically command a premium over loose cartridges/discs because the original box and manual are more fragile and get discarded or damaged over time — fewer complete sets survive.
