The player becomes Will, a member of the U.S.

Army's 75th Ranger Regiment, one of the soldiers tasked to capture a spy who holds the plans to a secret Iranian weapons facility.

If unsuccessful in the capture, nuclear war is imminent.

The game is played as an on-rails shooter: the character does not need to be moved manually and instead relies on the computer to move from one point to the next.

The player only needs to aim, shoot and reload.

After each mission unlocks can be selected from an armory through a skill tree with different paths.

The unlocks include specific weapons, more room for ammo, or abilities such as faster reloading and extra health.

Multiplayer is supported locally in cooperative games for up to four players.
